The 2-day freediver course is a pool course intended for anyone looking to get into freediving. Learn how to safely hold your breath, freediving safety and rescue skills. The surf survival training is designed to have the freediver adapt to a high CO2 tolerance with hypercapnic specific exercises.

1) DESCRIPTION:
Day 1: Intro to Freediving Course (AIDA 1)
This introductory course is intended for anyone interested in freediving, or apnea diving. After this course you will know the fundamentals required to be a safe freediver and can receive an international certificate of freediving (apnea) from AIDA International. This one day course will teach you to hold your breath safely, the necessary safety and rescue skills.
The course includes:
- AIDA 1 International Freediving Certificate (additional 10 Euro)
- Classroom Theory Session
- Confined Water Session
- Intro to Open Water
- Learn the basics of safety and rescue in freediving
- Learn static apnea
Course Pre-requisites:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Able to swim 100 meters
- Sign the medical statement and liability forms
- Commitment: Introductory
Day 2: Surfing Survival Training
Learn to survive a big surf wipeout scenario and train to hold breath for an extended period of time when being held down by waves. This course will first teach you how to freedive safely, and then how to remain calm in situations simulating a big wave wipeout.
The training includes:
- Static apnea exercises
- Intro to dry training
- Learn about CO2 tables and their benefits
- Practice more rescue and safety techniques
- Practice CO2 specific exercises to increase hypercapnic tolerance
Training Pre-requisites:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Able to swim 100 meters
- Sign the medical statement and liability forms
- Commitment: Medium Intensity

2) PRICING:
Course Price: 315 $CAD + applicable taxes per person
Price Breakdown:
- 250 $CAD + applicable taxes (AIDA 1 Course)
- 65 $CAD + applicable taxes (Surf Survival Training)
- A mandatory 100 $CAD DEPOSIT is required to reserve a spot for any participant.
3) PRE-REQUISITES:
- Able to swim 200 meters non-stop
- Must be 18 years old (16 years old with parent/guardian consent)
- Signed medical statement and liability forms
- 100 $CAD deposit prior at time of reservation/booking
- Full payment provided no later than two weeks (14 days) prior to date of course
4) EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
- Mask and snorkel
- Surfing, triathlon or snorkelling wetsuit (3mm to 5mm one-piece pool wetsuit)
- Weight-belt and weights
- Change of clothes, towel and sandals
- Water, warm beverage and lights snacks
5) PRO TIPS:
- Try not to eat 2-3 hours before any freediving session (i.e. static, dynamic or open water)
- Do some light stretching or yoga at home before coming to a session
- Come well dressed and warm (yes, even during summer time in Canada)
- Bring extra warm/dry clothes and extra warm beverage, snacks and light food
- Bring a yoga mat or any other equipment related to stretching, breathwork or meditation

6) SPECIALS/PERKS:
- Course participants receive 10% any Oceaner Freediving custom made wetsuit (hand-made in Burnaby, British Columbia)

7) PAYMENT DETAILS & CANCELLATION POLICY:
i. Payment:
- A DEPOSIT of 100 $CAD is required immediately to reserve or book a spot in any event.
- FULL PAYMENT DUE two weeks (14 days) BEFORE event start date.
ii. Payment Options:
- For Canadian clients: Canadian e-transfer to info@seatoskyfreediving.com (no transfer fee).
- PayPal transfers also available to non-Canadians (5% additional transfer fee).
- Please contact us for other payments options including credit card (transfer fee may apply).
iii. Cancellation Policy:
- Full refund of DEPOSIT or PAYMENT 30 days BEFORE start date of event.
- Full refund or credit issued if event is cancelled by Sea to Sky Freediving due to unforeseeable circumstances.
- No refund of DEPOSIT 30 days or less BEFORE start date of event.
- No refund of PAYMENT 14 days or less BEFORE start date of event.
